Home Inventory: Privacy
Home Inventory is a small free tool that helps a household list belongings (for example after a fire, for an insurance claim) by speaking or typing them.
- Where your data goes: each entry is written by your own browser directly into a Google Sheet called "Home Inventory" in your Google Drive. It does not pass through or get stored on our servers.
- Google access: the app asks only for the
drive.file permission, which lets it see and edit only the files it creates or that you pick in the app. It cannot see the rest of your Drive.
- On your phone: your room list, your name, recent entries and a short-lived sign-in token are kept in your browser's local storage so the app works between visits. Voice recognition is done by your phone's browser (Apple/Google speech services).
- No ads, no tracking, no selling or sharing of data.
- Removing access: visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove justkindaworks.com. Your sheet stays in your Drive until you delete it.
